Hundreds of Workers in Lagos State on Sunday, converged at the Mobolaji Arena, Onikan, to mark the 2022 Workers Day celebration.
ASSBIFI was in attendance, as well as workers who were representatives of their various unions.
The theme for the 2022 workers day in Nigeria is: ‘’Labour Politics and the Quest for Good Governance and Development in Nigeria’’. Also in attendance, was the Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Sanwoolu.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Lagos State Council, Mr Gbenga Ekundayo, said the theme of the 2022 May day was apt in view of the fact that Nigeria would be heading to the 2023 polls.
He also expressed concerns over the plight of students and the striking lecturers in the federal tertiary institutions, urged stakeholders to appeal to the Federal Government to resolve the issues.
